Antananarivo - Andasibe (3hour drive)

Depart at 08.30 am and en route to Andasibe you will visit a private reserve for wildlife viewing, After having lunch at Vakona Forest Lodge in Andasibe enjoy another private reserve that a number of rare mammals that are otherwise difficult to spot in the wild.
In the late afternoon, you will accompany your guide on an evening walk into the rainforest to catch a glimpse of the nocturnal wildlife (dwarf lemur, fossa fossana etc).

After breakfast, enjoy hiking into the mysterious forest found within Analamazaotra, Madagascar’s most accessible rainforest park. The park consists of two protected areas, the special Reserve of Indri d' Analamazaotra and the National park of Mantadia. Analamazaotra, better known as Perinet, is world famous for its population of Indri lemurs that are the largest living lemur. After lunch you will visit the national park of Mantadia, home to vast biodiversity, including many endangered species.

Andasibe - Tamatave

After breakfast you will depart for Tamatave (Toamasina), where you will take part in a city tour. The city covers comfortably between the Bay Ivondro and the immense beach along the bay and the Indian Ocean. Its colonial past resurfaces through wide boulevards with ancient colonnaded buildings straight stand side by side. For travellers, it’s a pleasant place, with long, wide avenues lined with flamboyants and palm trees, a seaside promenade and a good selection of hotels and restaurants.

Tamatave - Sainte Marie (by plane)

After breakfast transfer to the airport to take the flight to Sainte Marie or St. Mary’s Island. Relax during the afternoon while discovering the delightful secrets of this island that was a pSainte Marie is a narrow granitic island 57 km long 8 km off the east coast of Madagascar. It is composed of a main island and several small islets. Its lush vegetation interspersed with many small villages, the kilometrical sandy beaches shaded by coconut palms, its bays and coves protected by coral reefs have turned this tropical dream island into a popular beach spot. An atmosphere of peace, tranquility and pure natural beauty prevails on the island, a feeling definitely emphasized by the joie de vivre of the Malagasy. Cycling is the most popular means of transport of getting around.

Sainte Marie

After breakfast you will depart to Ile Aux Nattes (also known as Nosy Nato) and enjoy a full day there. This petite (3 km in diameter) but exquisite tropical island is located just off the southern tip of St. Marie, and the only way to reach it is by lakana or a traditional wooden canoe also known as a pirogue. You will be pleasantly surprised to find that there are no forms of modern transport allowed on the island, easing you into a state of absolute tranquility and peace. Most of the 1,500 inhabitants on the island are fishermen. You will enjoy a picnic lunch on the island return to your hotel late afternoon.

Sainte Marie - Antananarivo (by plane)

After breakfast transfer to the beach to take part in a whale watching expedition (only from July to September). During the southern winter season that lasts from July to September, humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) migrate to the North and stop in the Malagasy waters to mate, give birth and raise their young. Humpback whales are magical to watch and you will be amazed by their ability to be graceful and acrobatic despite their size.
Enjoy a leisurely lunch at the hotel before flying back to the capital.
