Madikwe Hills
Set within 75 000 hectares of safari park, Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge is situated on a rocky outcrop in the heart of the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve in the North West Province of South Africa. Accommodating up to 24 guests in vast, well-spaced and utterly private glass-fronted suites scattered across the hillside, camouflaged by tamboti-beamed thatch roofs. Wooden walkways lit by hurricane lamps criss-cross the grounds and connect the secluded suites to the central open-plan lounge, bar, wine cellar, library and dining area up the slope, where cooling fans make slow rotations and the giant twisted trunks of leadwood trees hold up the vaulted ceiling.

Leopard Hills
The Lodge is built on a hill overlooking a natural waterhole. Each of the eight luxurious glass-fronted suites, complete with their own sundeck and rock plunge pool offer superb views of the African bushveld beyond. The suites are generously spacious and immense in stature with air-conditioning and overhead fans. The breathtaking romantic bathrooms include double indoor and outdoor showers, which open to a glorious view of the passing cavalcade below. 

Leopard Hills

Kings Camp
Situated in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, Kings Camp faces an open savanna plain with a waterhole, which is frequented by a wide variety of wildlife by day and night. Nine generously spacious Colonial Suites and two exquisite Honeymoon Suites are luxuriously equipped with air-conditioning, Victorian ball-and-claw bath, indoor and outdoor double shower, fully stocked mini-bar and private verandah. The honeymoon suites enjoy the privacy of their own pools overlooking the bush. And for the ultimate in safari privacy, Waterbuck Private Camp, with its own game viewing vehicle and game ranger, as well as a personal butler and chef, boasts a four-bedroomed Private Villa.

Today you will take the flight from Johannesburg to Madikwe Game Reserve in the North West Province of South Africa. Madikwe Game Reserve is home not only to the Big Five of Africa (Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino and Leopard), but also to a wealth of over 66 mammal species, including the rare African Wild Dog, as well as Cheetah, Eland, Kudu, Giraffe and a range of more than 300 resident and migratory species of birds.

You will have enough time to explore the wonders of the Madikwe Game Reserve. Knowledgeable and professional rangers conduct early morning and late afternoon, or evening, game drives in search of Africa’s big game and smaller wildlife. On Morning Game drives, should you be feeling energetic, you may choose to experience an up close and personal glimpse of the African bush on foot with a gentle bush walk through the bush back to the Lodge. This experience provides exceptional close encounters with the smaller inhabitants of this wilderness.

As guests complete their evening game drive, they will be enticed by the essence of a burning fire, to arrive to a hurricane lit “dining room” in the bush. With the finest in cuisine and service excellence, guests will enjoy an unforgettable feast under starlit African skies.

After the breakfast, fly to another camp, Leopard Hills, in the Western Sector of the World Famous Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. Leopard Hills traverses over 10,000 hectares of incredibly diverse ecosystems, from the open plains in the south, to the Riverine bush along the banks of the Sand River, to the woodland and rock outcrops in the north. With such diversity of Flora comes an equal diversity of Fauna, making Leopard Hills the ideal destination to view Big Game in its natural habitat.

Sabi Sand

During the days you stay in here, Leopard Hills prides itself with the best rangers in the business, and they offer a safari experience like no other, from sightings of big game in their natural surroundings, to the smaller flora and fauna, which make this piece of “paradise” a place we are privileged to call home. The Sabi Sand Reserve is the birthplace of sustainable wildlife tourism in Southern Africa, and is the oldest of all the private reserves in South Africa. It has only ever been a wilderness area and is home to a vast wildlife population, including The Big Five, and a number of endangered species too. Flanking the Kruger National Park, animals pass unhindered between the reserves.

Road transfer Sabi Sand – Timbavati (with Ultimate Elephant Experience en-route)

Today you will be transferred to Timbavati. Before you arrive in the next camp, you will experience the the unforgettable elephant interactions. It offers you the opportunity to feel their constantly curious trunks, touch their rough skin, exchange trunk greetings and offer tasty treats, while learning about their behaviour and history from the Elephant Handlers. An Elephant Back Ride offers a different perspective; embark on a journey which was once a privilege reserved only for kings! Thereafter, continue to your destination.

Timbavati

The Timbavati Private Nature Reserve came into existence on July 1956. The size of the reserve covers about 60 000 hectares of pristine African bush, part of the world famous greater Kruger National Park. It is home to the rare white lion. The earliest recorded sighting of white lions in the Timbavati was in 1938. However, the oral records of African elders indicate that these unique animals survived in this region for many centuries.
